oolong tea

Herbal teas originated from China and the Middle East, and are popular for their healing benefits. Chamomile, for example, has calming properties so it is a favorite among those who have trouble sleeping. It can also relieve anxiety. Some even use it as skin cleanser because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Jasmine tea has the same calming effect as Chamomile tea, and can aid indigestion.

Flavored teas are made by mixing other plants with real tea. The latter includes black, green, yellow, white or oolong tea. By adding bergamot to black tea, the popular Earl Grey tea is made. The addition of jasmine flowers to oolong or Chinese tea creates Jasmine tea. Genmaicha is the combination of Japanese green tea and toasted rice.
