Taking A Piece of Granny Everywhere I Go
I was searching through some of our old photo albums in the attic when I found a very old-looking box. It was a small wooden box with some initials etched on the lid. Judging from how old the box looked and initials, I figured that it belonged to my late grandmother. I didn’t expect to see some of her things there, so curiosity got the best of me and I complete forgot those photo albums. I went down and called my mother from her room to help me look at the contents of the box.
Apparently, it was my grandmother’s old jewelry box, with some of the old jewelry stored in it. There were gold rings, pearl necklaces and diamond-studded bracelets. What caught my attention were the sterling silver bracelets at the very bottom of the box. My mother said it was my grandmother’s favorite piece of jewelry when she was still alive, so I decided to wear the bracelet – with my mother’s consent, of course – and now I have a little piece of Granny wherever I go.
