I had just finished planning my son’s first birthday party. First on the list was of course the birthday cake, followed by latex balloons and sumptuous party food. I found a caterer that specialized in children’s parties. Then I hired an event decorator who took care of dressing up the place. This decorator was like a wedding stylist she chose the color motif and designed the overall look of the place. My son’s birthday party had a red and black theme, inspired by a famous animated mouse.

The cake I chose was about 24 inches in length. It had a photo of a mouse on a skateboard. The words “Happy Birthday Mark” was spelled out in bright blue icing. There were latex balloons for each table. I also set aside an extra table for the ice creams treats we were going to give away. It is one birthday party I would have wanted to go to if I were a kid.
